#21 - Propagation 2014

I like to propagate during the winter time. I find that the winters here being as mild as they are, help with keeping the moisture high inside the domes.

I made this dome greenhouse with pvc pipe and plastic from a big box store. The plastic will last just one winter, but that's okay.

Autumn Olive grows like a weed during the winter under a dome. I planted these in 1 gallon pots. Once summer gets here, they will grow 5 feet. These were cut about 12 inches long or longer.

These little Autumn Olives were planted in plastic pop bottles. These were much shorter, about 6 inches long.

Also under the dome is Goumi, and Blueberry plants. This is the first time I have tried to propagate these two plants using this method.

Something to think about...Politicians should be the least important people in our society. Politicians should only represent the people. At all other times, they need to stay out of the people's lives. Politicians are the biggest liars and will tell you anything you want to hear to get re-elected. They don't care about anyone except to further their own cause. Most of the problems in society can be blamed on Politicians and the laws they pass. If you want to end the problems we face, you have to decide you will take care of your own problems and that you will let the politicians know that they are irrelevant.

Remember to starve the Beast by bartering and using Bitcoin. Trade your services for anything other than dollars. The best way to get your Liberty back is by this avenue. The best way to get rid of laws that oppress the people, is by not funding the system that enforces those laws.

#20 - Planting Bed #1

Planting Bed #1

I decided that I wanted to create a border to outline Planting Bed #1. It was too muddy to do much else. Although I have to admit, I found the task easier with the ground being wet. It was easier to pound the boards into the ground. I used 7 cedar pickets normally used for fencing as the border.

The next task I have, is to figure out how to construct a structure that will allow me to keep grasshoppers off anything I plant. I have a few ideas...

#19 - The Beast!

The Beast!

Imagine there are no Governments and there are no Banks. Imagine that human beings can govern themselves. Self ownership rather than a slave to the afore mentioned. That's what I'm trying to do by preparing a homestead. I'm trying to break the chains that enslave me. I don't believe that we need the Beast (governments and banks) to live. In fact, I believe we will never be free until governments and banks are starved. Being in debt feeds the Beast and keeps you in shackles.

The reason I say starved is because you can't defeat them by fighting them. But you can starve the Beast. There are things you can do to starve the Beast. Barter would be one way. Exchanging something of value for another something of value cuts out the taxman. Taxation is theft. The Beast feeds on taxes.

I'm attempting to redefine what wealth is to me as well. Is health, wealth? Is growing your own food, wealth? How about raising livestock? Is spending time with your family, doing the things your family likes to do, wealth? Or is it being in debt, working for that nice shiny car. Or that big house.

If I had one thing to say to young people right now, it would be to head for the rural areas and learn to live off the land. If you don't have land, beg someone to let you farm for them until you can buy your own place. And then start to barter. Or if you want to make a business of your farm, accept precious metals for your surplus and services.

Ultimately, the goal is to starve the Beast. Because the ultimate goal of the Beast is to create a one world government. And it is achieving that by keeping you in debt and taxing you to death. Wake up!

Unless you think the Beast is going to take care of you.

#18 - Pressure Canning

Pressure Canning

I got a Pressure Cooker for Christmas and put it to use.

Isn't she a beauty!

We canned about 20lbs of Chicken.

I was surprised by the liquid within the jars. When we packed the chicken, it was done without any broth or water put inside the jars. The chicken created its own juices. Really cool.

An excellent way to add to the food storage. I can't wait to cook with this and see if it tastes better than it looks. This was my first time to can anything. I have to admit I was a bit nervous.

This to me is a form of wealth that my wife and I were able to do for ourselves. The beginning of a skill set that may help my family to get through tough times. It's time for people to redefine what true wealth is.

What I'm reading..."The Creature From Jekyll Island" by G. Edward Griffin. Please do yourself a great favor and read this book. It explains why the world is in the shape it is. End The Fed!
